Factory Reset Protection FAQ
Why is Google asking for the old account after a reset?
Because FRP is designed to stop a wiped phone from being set up by someone who does not control the original account history.
Are FRP bypass APKs safe if the phone is mine?
No. Even for legitimate owners, those tools often come from low-trust download pages and can add malware, scams, or unsafe permissions.
What if I changed the Google password recently?
You may need to wait before setup accepts the account again. A recent password change is one of the most common reasons people think the phone is permanently locked when it is not.
What if I bought the phone used?
The seller may still need to remove the old account properly. If they cannot or will not help, that is a problem with the transaction, not a signal to start bypassing protections.
What if it is a work or school phone?
Contact the administrator or issuing organization. Managed devices can carry controls that are separate from your personal account.
